SF No. 43, Amplification, 2016-2019, color sample cards, graphic tape, Canson millimeter paper, customized frame, 15 x 18 x 1 inches, San Francisco, CA

This series experiments in using color sample cards from the 2017 Benjamin Moore color forecasts in collaged installations. The pieces develop shapes explored in several different series of the artist’s and comment on the ways that the frame of an artwork acts as an extension of the work itself. In this way, these works dive deeper into the discussion of functional production vs fine art.

A Look Back

This artwork uses sculptures from Chroma I standing on a customized light box. They use the colors from the International Colour Authority 2010 color forecast transposed onto wooden sculptures in order to comment on the ephemeral nature of consumerist culture. The lightbox, set to opaque, lit the sculptures from the bottom, adding a sense of mystery in the surrounding glow. This work was exhibited in South London.
