SF No. 7, Bus 33, 2018, acrylic and colored pencil on acid-free paper, 32 x 26 x 1.5 inches

A composition of four separate works, this piece is the third installment of the Bus 33 series, made while commuting to the artist’s studio on the bus. This collection represents a collaboration between the controlled studio environment and the journey through the city of San Francisco that the artist takes daily. Several variables such as shadows from buildings, colors of passing cars, jerks from the bus’s breaks in traffic, etc. impacted the designs of these abstractions.

A Look Back

Modular Surface, 2012, wood, felt fabric, PVC sheet, and steel wire, 136 x 236 x 2 inches

Modular Surface is composed of pieces of the roof of previous work Future Prospectus - Pavilion inverted to distort the shape. The colored felts covering the triangular panels were all that were available at the fabric store at the time, keeping the artist from participating in the color coordination of the piece. Modular Surface was shown suspended from the ceiling in the Triangle Space Gallery in London in 2012.
